The basic rule is: The better it
looks, the better it sells!
You
may bring in up to 30 of your best
items any time during normal business hours.
Best
means: most popular brands, most expensive, best condition,
most current styles, NO stains, NO wrinkles, appropriate
season, etc.
There are a few things you need
to do in preparation for consigning your items with Back On
The Racks. Please inspect your items closely and make
sure that they meet the following guidelines:
Clothing
Clothing
should be like new and relatively current styles (bought
within the last 2-3 years).
All
clothing must be
freshly laundered (within 1 week).
Items
must be completely
free of: smoke or other odors, wrinkles, stains,
holes, fading or excessive wear.
Please
iron or steam out all wrinkles, and look for rips, stains, or
missing buttons. Also,
any items that have even the faintest smell of smoke or mildew
will not be accepted.
Look
at the items through the eyes of a customer and ask yourself,
“Would I buy this item in this condition?”
We
do not accept undergarments of any kind and for women we only
accept brand new women’s bathing suits with the tags still
attached.
Zippers
must work, all buttons must be present, and all snaps,
buttons, and zippers should be fastened.
Clothing
brought in plastic or paper bags will not be accepted!
Clothing
stored in bags tends to wrinkle and wrinkled clothing does not
sell well. Since you’ve worked hard to sort and prepare your items we
want to ensure you get the best price for them.
Women’s
clothing must
be brought to Back On The Racks on hangers.
Kids’ clothing must
be brought in either on hangers, folded neatly into
boxes, plastic bins, or laundry baskets, or hand-carried in.
Women’s
shoes must be new or in very excellent condition.
Kids’ shoes must be very clean with little wear.
For
women's items especially, we are very picky on the brands and
styles that we accept so
please
don't bring in Mart brands or older styles unless they are
vintage pieces (early 1960's or older).
Furniture, Gear,
Toys, DVD, and Books
We are always
concerned with the safety of our littlest customers so please
check the safety of your baby gear at http://www.cpsc.gov
before bringing it to Back On The Racks.
Please ensure
that all items meet current safety standards, have not been recalled, and
are: clean, free of smoke or other
odors, working, new within the last 4 years, and not missing
any parts.
All items must have working batteries installed
(if applicable). We can install batteries but the cost
of the batteries will be charged to your account.
If your item
has a seat or any other part made of fabric, remove the seat
and wash according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Please
include all manuals and packaging whenever possible.
We do not accept used breast pumps, used car seats, used diaper pails, or
used bathing equipment.
DVDs must be in
excellent, like new condition and must be in their original
cases.
Books must be in
excellent, like new condition with good covers and no
markings.
